I forget how much I love shooting weddings until I do one. There is just something so amazing about watching the day play out and capturing it. Especially when the couple is so awesome. And Sara and Derek were definitely awesome. As well as their families and entire wedding party. I love meeting all the neat new people that I have the opportunity to meet!
It was, of course, really hot outside so to avoid melting before the wedding we did a lot of our shooting indoors. The Atherton Hotel made a great backdrop for those pictures. Then after the beautiful ceremony we headed to the Alumni Center for a rockin’ awesome reception. It was such a great party! We did a photo booth that was SO much fun for the guests! I’m hoping to upload those images soon to share. Be ready, they are FUN!
Until then, here are a few (or quite a few) of my favorite shots from the day!
The girls had a wonderful spread of goodness in their room to curb their hunger before the ceremony.
The guys had goodies too. Somehow they didn’t keep thier trays quite as tidy!
Sara’s friends gave her a gorgeous pair of earrings. What a great group of girls they all are!
Heading down to take some pictures, the guys had a little too much fun in the elevator…
Then on the way back in they picked up this fun lady. They were a hoot!
Sara made an absolutely stunning bride!
First sight, before the wedding. Have I ever mentioned how much I love these? Having my bride and groom see each other before the ceremony gives me the opportunity to capture them in such an intimate time. So special!
This is one of my FAVES!
Have I mentioned how stunning Sara was?!
A little pre-wedding touch up:
A little signing of the marraige certificate:
And most importantly, a pre-wedding prayer:
The ceremony was awesome!
This is Sara’s cousin, and me. Everyone kept saying we looked just alike. Like, everyone. Seriously. So I had to have a picture taken together!
Awesome reception. Even more awesome dancing!
Grandpa did some serious dancing. I mean, SERIOUS dancing.
See, told ya!
Congratulations Sara and Derek!
